Givenchy's Holy Collection

Givenchy as one of the biggest influences for youth released a tee collection with a lot of different prints. They all look so artistic – in a good way. Then I tried to understand about the meaning of the pictures that are printed on their tees.
I found out that it’s Marie Magdalene, but without Jesus. In my opinion this is such a strong statement of art that influenced the fashion world, and is inspired by a lot of different things including religion.
Then I wondered, if some people still make religion as such a sacred thing, then could it be an inspiration of art? Could artists actually use the icon of religion as their statement of a high-end fashion?

I’m pretty sure that our grandparents consider religion as the thing that you must listen to. But the thing is all of the religion statements are based on ‘writings’, not by a visual. Then people tried to remake the situations that were written in the holy bible into the form of art, one of them is painting. So here is the thing: do these so-called religious arts could be interpreted as a usual art and be re-interpreted as a statement of fashion?

Then I came into this thought. Art and fashion must go along together in order to get the uniqueness and a bold statement of the collection. Givenchy have a good tees collection, using black as the color, they can combine any pictures on it. The Marie Magdalene prints were inspired by paintings, so it’s not their own interpretation that was taken directly from the bible. Some people believe that art has no boundaries and I’m one of those people. I believe that art is free and it can be inspired from anything. Fashion as one of the form of art needs the same requirement, it also knows no limits.
