The Story of Lee and Blow

A few days ago I watched a documentary of Alexander McQueen (Lee) and Isabella Blow. I knew both of them because, of course, they were one of the most famous designers and muses. Yes, maybe some of you already know that Isabella was Lee's muse (that one perfect model that is chosen by a designer to wear all of their collections). I was stunned about their story. Sad and tragic.

Isabella Blow was a model, was chosen by Lee to be his muse. Before Lee worked at Givenchy, Isabella was a really famous model. She had a dinner with Anna Wintour and even she met the Queen of the U.K.. Everybody knew that she always had a glamorous style, unusual, and different. She wore the collections from Alexander McQueen and in many occasions she combined her dresses with Phillip Treacy hats.
Lee was a genius and talented designer. He was unique and he was famous of pushing boundaries. His shows were so artistic. Givenchy hired him as the designer in early 2000s, but that's when the sad story began.
Isabella lost her job as Lee's muse. She was so depressed, got some debts and her husband left her. Lee knew that and he tried to help Isabella. But it's too late. She died in her 6th suicide attempt by drinking poison. In her funeral, Lee looked really sad.

Then in 2009, Alexander McQueen held a show. The show was fantastic and a lot of people said great things about Lee's last show. Yes, last show. Because a few months later, Lee attemtpted suicide by hanging himself.
I burst into tears. Their story was like a tragic movie. I'm sure they were good people and they were destined to have each other.

RIP: Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow
